Argentine Football Federation President Claudio Tapia says he is optimistic about Lionel Messi’s possible participation in the 2026 World Cup.
“Yes, I can imagine Messi playing in the 2026 World Cup. It is quite possible. Leo can play any position he wants. Everything depends on him, but there is no doubt that I dream of seeing him at another World Cup”, Tapia shared.
Messi has participated in the world finals 5 times, and last year he fulfilled his biggest goal and led Argentina to the title. On the way to the trophy, Leo scored 7 goals and made 3 assists. He was also chosen as the best player of the tournament. In 2026 for the World Cup in USA and Canada Messi will be 39.
