Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso kept his third place in the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix after chaotic events after the race. The Spaniard finished third, but the stewards initially gave him a 10-second penalty for not serving his first penalty of the race correctly under the Safety Car.
Alonso celebrated on the podium, but minutes later FIA announced the decision and George Russel got the third place. Aston Martin discussed the situation in the pits with the stewards and after reviewing new videos, Alonso was taken back to his third place.

A statement said: “Having reviewed the new evidence, we concluded that there was no clear agreement, as was suggested to the Stewards previously, that could be relied upon to determine that parties had agreed that a jack touching a car would amount to working on the car, without more.
“In the circumstances, we considered that our original decision to impose a penalty on Car 14 needed to be reversed and we did so accordingly.”
