Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies is looking increasingly likely to not stay at the Allianz Arena next season and instead move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Negotiations between the German club and the Canadian over a new contract are at an impasse, so Davies’ contract remains until the summer of 2025. This means that any offer coming for him after the end of the current season would be potentially tempting as he will have just 12 months left on his deal.
Bayern Munich is aware of Real Madrid’s interest in Davies and wants to renew the player’s contract, but the Bavarians’ plans have so far failed. The player has yet to make a final decision on his future, but is currently closer to going to Real Madrid than staying at Bayern, German outlet Sport1 reports on Friday.
Real Madrid hope that Davies will not renew his contract and will be able to buy him at a lower price next summer, with the transfer fee expected to be around 50 million euros.
