Ex-Brazilian player Dani Alves will face trial from Feb. 5-7, 2024, for alleged sexual assault of a woman in a nightclub last year, a Spanish court announced today.
Last month, the Barcelona-based court shared that “there was enough evidence to open the trial” after a long procedure of gaining pieces of evidence and statements.

The former Catalan side defender has been in pre-trial jail since the beginning of the year when he was put behind bars for allegedly assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Barcelona at the end of the last year. Alves was indicted by an investigative judge at the end of the summer.
The former Brazil international has since been held in custody without bail in a jail in Barcelona, and his requests to be freed were denied because he has resources to flee the country.
