Amen, Ausar 1st brothers as top 5 picks in NBA

The people watched history at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as the 2023 NBA Draft took place. The twins’ Amen and Ausar Thompson were selected back-to-back.

The Houston Rockets drafted Amen with the 4^th overall pick, while the Detroit Pistons used the 5^th overall pick to add Ausar. That is the 1^st time in the National Basketball League history that brothers were drafted in the top 5.

“I will make jokes with my brother as I was picked first. It means a lot not only to me but to my family,” Amen shared. “Me and Ausar, we didn’t care which one would be drafted ahead. But to make it to the NBA means the whole world to my family, as we work very hard to be here. Us drafted back-to-back, be the 1^st brothers in the same draft to go top 5; I can’t even explain how happy we are right now.”

There are now six sets of identical twins in the NBA.
