Aston Martin need to get back at the front, insists team boss

Aston Martin had a tremendous start to the 2023 campaign with star drivers Fernando Alonso clinching podium finishes in six out of the opening 8 races.

However, since then it has been a steep downhill for the green cars as they have fallen behind not only Mercedes and Ferrari, but McLaren as well.

Team Principal Mike Krack gave his insight as to why his team has suffered such setback and why do they now have the 5th fastest car.

“Well, I think the cars are quite complex. You improve them, you try to bring upgrades and sometimes you create side effects.” Krack said.

“And at the same time, we had some of our competitors making huge progress and this leads to dropping down in the pecking order. And you need a couple of events to analyse that, to understand it and to try and to help it.”

The team boss further added that his team is fully motivated to get back to the podium finishes and hasn’t given up on this year’s car development.
