A few days after the Detroit Lions were defeated in the NFC Championship Game, a crucial member of the organization’s coaching staff decided to remain in the team.
#Lions OC Ben Johnson informed the #Seahawks and #Commanders that he’s staying in Detroit, per sources.
Johnson is still only 37 and will be a hot head coaching candidate again next year. But first, he wants to take another shot at bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Detroit. pic.twitter.com/lPg2Po33sx

Ben Johnson will continue to do his job as offensive coordinator in Detroit rather than pursue managerial vacancies at the Washington Commanders and the Seattle Seahawks.
Washington officials were en route to Detroit for a meeting with Johnson and DC Aaron Glenn when they were told that Ben had decided to remain in his current position.
Johnson held discussions for the head coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and LA Chargers, but all of these franchises decided to hire another candidate.
For the 2nd consecutive campaign, Johnson was viewed as 1 of the most preferred names among National Football League head-coaching candidates. Still, in the next season, he will be with the Lions as offensive coordinator.
