The Blue Jays infielder (22) is the team’s top hitting prospect and was called up several days ago after shortstop Bo Bichette was placed on the IRL.
Orelvis shared that he had spent the last 2 years trying to start a family with his girlfriend and was prescribed Rejun 50 while being in his native country – Dominican Republic.
Martinez added that his main goal was to keep this within his family and that he believed the doctor that his treatment will not violate the PED rules. Because of that, the player didn’t share about that with his organization or the MLB officials.
Orelvis shared that he takes full responsibility for the incident and that he accept the punishment that will keep him off the pitch for 80 matches.
