Formula 1 is debuting its 1st generative AI-designed title at the Canadian GP but the value of AI is not only for marketing but only will be more relevant for speed and strategy in the future.
The artificial intelligence programs are helping bolids go faster and make F1 more competitive, saving a lot of time that allows budget teams to have a competitive edge with the biggest brands.
“We compete daily for hundreds and thousandths of a second,” Peter Bayer revealed in the past several days with software partner Epicor at the Red Bulls’ Faenza factory.
“The task of handling that by a human can be a huge stress, and that’s when artificial intelligence will help us.”
Companies like Epicor can get real data on competitors’ behavior, save time and resources through automation, and provide data during the races spontaneously.
Bayer added that he believes that AI and Formula 1 will achieve a lot in the near future, which nobody thinks is possible today.
