Dwane Casey says that he departs as the head coach of the Detroit Pistons after 5 seasons.

However, Casey will remain in the franchise and will work at the front office. Detroit will start immediately looking for a new head coach.
Dwane (65) became part of the team in 18-19, as his record as the boss was 121-262 in 383 matches. He clinched the playoffs only in his 1st year with the Pistons.
“Tom is allowing me to move into the front office,” Casey said, referring to Pistons owner Tom Gores. “I’m excited to go to the next phase of my life. Time to spend more time with my family. This team is on the right track. But they probably need to hear a new voice. This is my decision.”
Before that, he was the Toronto Raptors’ head coach for 7 years – from 2011 to 2018.
