After 2 and a half campaigns highlighted by lofty expectations and routine disappointments, the LA Chargers have let go boss Brandon Staley and GM Tom Telesco, the franchise shared today.
Staley is the 2nd team’s manager to be dismissed mid-season since 1970, as the other 1 was Kevin Gilbride in 1998.

The NFL franchise from LA was 24-24 under Staley, with 1 playoff appearance in 2022 that ended with a 27-point blown lead against the Jacksonville Jaguars – the 3rd largest comeback in the postseason history.
Owner Dean Spanos described the firings as the organization’s supporters “deserve better.”
The Chargers appointed Brandon because of his success as a defensive coordinator with the Rams in 2020, where the other franchise from Los Angeles was the NFL’s best defense in points and yards allowed per match. But he never had that impact as Chargers head coach, despite having elite players and many of his ex-footballers.
