The Blues player Carney Chukwuemeka is expected to be out for 1 month and a half after having a knee procedure yesterday.
The midfielder (19) suffered the injury in Chelsea’s 3-1 loss to West Ham, where he netted his side’s only goal.
The London team paid 25.5 million dollars to Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, and he played in the 1st two Premier League matches of the campaign.
“Bittersweet feeling netting my 1st goal for the Blues but picking up an injury and not coming home with 3 points,” Carney shared.
“Minor setback, but I’ll be back as soon as possible. Thank you, Chelsea fans, for your continued support.”
The Blues confirmed Chukwuemeka’s surgery and shared that the midfielder would start rehabilitation, working with Chelsea’s medical staff at their Cobham training facility.
