Manchester United’s first choice goalkeeper David de Gea is on course to sign new contract with the club, which will see him take a significant pay cut, reports say.
De Gea’s current contract expires at the end of this season and rumours have been circulating whether he would sign a new one.
Both sides seems to have come to terms and the Spaniard is set to extend his stay with the Red Devils.
His current salary is the highest in the squad – £375,000 a week, and the club is keen to take that down as it is planning a huge clearout over the summer with new players coming in. According to the reports, the new contract has new bonuses, which will see de Gea earn money according to his performances.
The 32-year old has been at the club ever since 2011 when he joined from Atletico Madrid and has enjoyed an elusive career with the Red Devils, establishing himself as one of the most profound elite goalkeepers.
