David De Gea may be considering leaving Manchester United after latest twist in his contract negotiations saw the goalkeeper receive a much lower offer than the initial one.
De Gea was meant to receive a pay-cut, which would have seen him reduce his salary from £375,000-a-week to a £200,000-a-week. However, that offer was put on hold and reports suggest the Red Devils have given their No.1 goalkeeper an even lower one.
The reason behind the U-turn is believed to be Erik Ten Hag’s uncertainty about De Gea.
The 32-year-old future now looks even bleaker as he is due to become a free agent in 3 days. United still have an option to resign him after that, but it will be unlikely given the circumstances.
That may leave the Spaniard with the sole option of leaving the club and looking for another more appealing offer.
