Novak Djokovic admitted in front of the media that his right elbow is not in ideal condition.
That area has been troublesome for the world No.1 as he underwent a surgery on the joint in back in 2018 and still hasn’t apparently recovered in the mos optimal way.
The 35-year old succumbed to a shocking defeat in the Monte Carlo to Italian Lorenzo Musseti.
After the game Djokovic refused to comment on his condition, but in a press conference before his next outing at the Sprska Open in Bosna and Herzegovina the Serb revealed that he did indeed have issues with his elbow, which didn’t feel ideal.
‘The elbow is not in an ideal condition, but let’s say it’s good enough. I hope it will be fully ready for the first match.’ he told the press.
The world No.1 still has a month to get back in shape for the big event – the French Open. And with Nadal still recovering from hamstring injury this could be the golden ticket for the Serb to clinch the trophy.
