23-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic is not bothered by the fact that during most of his matches the crowd in the stands is on his opponent’s side.
“The fans are actually doing me a favor. The more they turn against me, the better. They awaken in me what perhaps they do not want to see – the winner. Of course, you want most of the stands to be on your side. I don’t want to play in a hostile environment. But it turns out that in most matches the fans support my opponents. This is my destiny and that’s okay. Sometimes it’s harder for me to come to terms with it, sometimes I don’t understand the reaction of the fans, but they have a point,” Djokovic told Tennis Majors.
The Serbian tennis player will play against Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in the third round of Wimbledon. The result in the meetings between them is 22-6 in favor of Djokovic.
