Manny has been the main target in the past month, and the contract is expected to be inked within a day. Duke recently finished its interviews for the managerial position in Las Vegas.
Diaz finished a campaign in which he led the nation’s top statistical defense, as the Nittany Lions held opponents to 223.2 yards per match – the most impressive single-campaign defensive performance in college football since Alabama in 2011.
Manny also has head-coaching experience in the ACC; as a boss of Miami, he led the program to 3-Bowl eligible campaigns during his 3 seasons there from 2019 to 2021. However, Miami decided to dismiss him after 3 campaigns despite having a positive record at 21-15.
