The 31-year-old goaltender has a 1-4-0 record this campaign with a .873 save % and a 4.50 GAA.
Campbell didn’t appear in the franchise’s 6-2 defeat against the Vancouver Canucks on Monday, through Edmonton manager Jay Woodcroft spoke about the criticism directed at both Campbell and Stuart Skinner after the match.
“Our goalies wear the same jerseys as the rest of the organization,” Oilers head coach shared. “Are there moments that our goaltenders can perform better? Without a doubt.”
Skinner has not performed better this campaign, with a 1-4-1 record with a .856 save % and a 3.99 GAA.
The franchise is in 2nd-last position in the National Hockey League with a 2-8-1 record. Only the San Jose Sharks, who the team will play against next, have won fewer points since the beginning of the campaign.
