At the moment, televisions in England and Scotland are forbidden to broadcast games between 2.45 pm and 5.15 pm, in line with UEFA statutes, and that is in effect about clashes from continental Europe too.
The current blackout is valid until 2029. However, investors, mainly from the USA, would like to make a change in order to get more money.
The most interested investors in ending the blackout are Chelsea and Manchester United’s USA owners, seeing this as an opportunity for their clubs to cost even more.
EPL rights holders outside of the UK can show all 380 matches live, and the next cycle of the agreement will see up to 250 and 270 on offer to those living in England and Scotland – a huge increase from 200 currently shown.
