Erik Gudbranson has been give a one match ban after an altercation with Florida Panthers’ Nick Cousins.

It was announced that Gudbranson will have a hearing with the NHL refereeing committee after Sunday’s game and he was subsequently deemed guilty.
The 31-year-old go into a fight with Cousins after receiving a hit in the back in the third period.
“The aggressor in an altercation shall be the player who continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on his opponent who is in a defenseless position or who is an unwilling combatant,” states rule 46.2 of the NHL rulebook.
Six minutes after the hit Gudbranson found Cousins on the ice, grabbed him from behind and punched him at least 5 times. The Columbus man was initially punished for 10 minutes misconduct and minor penalty for instigating and a game misconduct.
The Panthers eventually went on to win the game 5-2.
