Manchester City star Erling Haaland has voiced his concerns regarding the excessive number of matches professional footballers are required to play within a single season. The 24-year-old striker believes that UEFA needs to address this issue to ensure the well-being of players.

“We saw during the European Championship how tired the players were. It was evident from the level of play, but also from the faces of the fans, who looked tired of football. This season will be the same for some players who don’t get enough rest. It’s impossible to be in top form for every match. We will try, but it’s hard when you’ve played 70 matches in one year,” Haaland expressed during a press conference ahead of City’s friendly match against Milan in New York.
Despite his concerns about player fatigue, Haaland remains confident about Manchester City’s prospects in the Premier League. He believes the team, which has achieved remarkable success in recent years, is well-equipped to continue its dominance.
“We lack nothing. What the club has achieved in the last six years is impressive. Winning the league title four years in a row and securing the Champions League once,” he added.
