A decision in the alleged free agent tampering cases of the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles most probably will be announced in a few days.
It’s possible the Falcons will lose a first-round pick for tampering with Cousins, spent $100 million on him, and then used another first-round pick on his replacement before he even plays a snap.

Atlanta has been probed for the deal they may or may not have had with then-free agent QB Kirk Cousins before he inked with the Falcons. Philadelphia has been probed for the deal they may or may not have had with then-free agent RB Saquon Barkley. The league has discussed the matter with various members of both franchises.
One NFL source shared that Atlanta’s alleged transgressions are considered more significant, and the punishment will be more severe for the Falcons.
In the last few years, the NFL has taken tampering seriously and disciplined organizations accordingly.
Dolphins forfeited their last year 1st-round selection and this year’s 3rd-round pick for tampering with QB Tom Brady and manager Sean Payton on 3 occasions from 2019 to 2022.
