FIA decided not to reverse the penalty, which caused Carlos Sainz to lose his 4th place at the Australian Grand Prix.
BREAKING 🚨| Ferrari’s review of Carlos Sainz’ penalty in Australia has been dismissed, as there is ‘no significant and relevant new element’ present.
Carlos Sainz remains in P12 for the race. Carlos still on 20 points in 2023. Ferrari still on 26 points in 2023.

FIA applies a 5-second penalty to the Ferrari driver for the crash with Fernando Alonso after the reset. The Grand Prix ended with the safety car, and because of that and the fine, Carlos sank in the standings and finished the race without earning any points.
The stewards announced that nothing had changed since the end of the race, and no new proof was provided to them to overturn the penalty.
“The conditions of the track and the tires was something that every competitor needed to take into account and adapt to,” the ruling stated.
“In trying to brake late while racing (Pierre Gasly), (Carlos) adopted the risk that he, as a driver, would lose control of his car. In this case, that risk materialized, with the consequence of a collision that ensued, for which a penalty follows.”
