Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is far from forgetting his European Super League idea. According to the Spanish media Vozpópuli, the mastermind behind the previous Super League project has already started another round of talks with clubs all around Europe.
He wants to start a new open Super League with 3 divisions, which they would play instead of the Champions League and Europa League.
Right now the UEFA calendar also includes three levels of tournaments – Conference League, Europa League and Champions League. The main difference from the initial project of the Super League is that the new format won’t feature clubs with guaranteed spots in it and every club will have a chance to compete, based on their performances the year prior.
🚨 Florentino Perez is in talks with around 50/60 clubs to start a new open European Super League with 3 divisions, which they would play instead of the Champions League and Europa League. 🇪🇺
