The Spaniard (52) had surgery in Barcelona today and will miss Manchester City’s next 2 matches, which are vs. Sheffield United and Fulham in the Premier League, while he is healthy again to be on the touchline.
Juanma Lillo will lead the Sky Blues in the absence of Guardiola, who is expected to return after the international break.
“Guardiola has today undergone a routine surgery on a back problem.
“The Manchester City head coach has been suffering from severe back pain in recent months and flew out to Barcelona for an emergency operation performed by Dr. Mireia Illueca. The surgery was successful, and the manager will recover and rehabilitate in Barcelona.”
Pep’s return will likely be for the Sky Blues match vs. West Ham in London on September 16th.
