"It turned out to be a decent overtaking", seven-time world champion explained

Immediately after the final of the Australian Grand Prix, the winner Max Verstappen complained that in his battle with Lewis Hamilton at the beginning of the race, the Briton pushed him off the track.

At the start, George Russell attacked Max and overtook him in the first corner, and seconds later Lewis did the same in turn 3, opening up the apex on the exit of the corner and Verstappen complained that he had been pushed.

However, Hamilton has a different opinion and explained that his overtaking was “pretty decent”.

“I think it turned out to be a pretty decent overtaking. Max stopped too early, I stopped later for the turn, I took the full inside track and I think we each gave the other plenty of room. He didn’t try to corner me. Our cars didn’t touch, that’s the race,” commented Hamilton.
