Follow usJenni Hermoso has revealed she received threats following the infamous kiss-gate scandal, which occurred after the Women’s World Cup final in August.
The incident cause a major outcry in the footballing world and President Luis Rubiales resigned from his post as a consequence.
“These weeks have been very difficult,” Hermoso said.
“Having to tell it over and over again was hurting me a lot. But I know I had to let it go somehow.”
“I continue working on it with the help of my psychologist, who I have been with for many years.”
Furthermore, Hermoso filled a legal complaint against Rubiales and the President has been charged with sexual assault. He has also been banned from all football-related activities by FIFA for 3 years.
“I’ve had to assume the consequences of an act that I did not provoke, that I had not chosen or premeditated.
“I have received threats, and that is something you never get used to.”
