Bo Horvat tried to give explanation to his comment made over the weekend after Islander’s victory over Philadelphia.
Horvat was asked then how did the atmosphere in his current team compare to his previous ones, to which the 28-year old replied:
“It’s been unbelievable. It’s a lot better than Vancouver, I can tell you that for free.”

However, that didn’t go well with Vabcouver supporters as they saw an unforced dig at the club, with which he had spent 9 seasons.
Horvat said on Monday that he meant to harm and the comment was a product of his current emotions back then.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect to the fans of Vancouver, the teammates or city of Vancouver at all,” he commented
“It wasn’t directed at them at all. (Islanders) fans were all excited, and I was excited to be in a playoff push and it was just kind of one of those things where my emotions got the best of me, and I was just really happy to be there.”
Horvat signed with the Islanders this January after talks for a contract extension with his former team fell out last year. The Canucks made the playoffs only twice during the 28-year old stay – his debut season in 2014-15 and 2019-20, when there was an extension to 24 teams.
