Nick Marsman is paid off his contract and released by the club

Inter Miami goalkeeper Nick Marsman, who said the club is not ready to sign a player of Lionel Messi’s caliber, is no longer part of the squad. The club paid off the Dutch goalkeeper and terminated his contract, so the 32-year-old Marsman is now a free agent.

MLS rules allow clubs to terminate the contract of just one player, and the decision in Miami was this option to be used on the Dutch goalkeeper. It is unknown whether because of the comment or for another reason, but Marsman is the player who is leaving the club.

“I think this club is not ready for Messi. We have a temporary stadium, people cannot enter the field, there are no entrances and no security. There is no security. I don’t think the club is ready, Marsman said a few months back.
