It was Italy’s 1st championship in 18 years without 1 of Giorgio Chiellini or Leonardo Bonucci in the team, and the Azzurri allowed a goal after only 23 seconds as Nedim Bajrami scored the quickest goal in the history of the European tournaments.
But that didn’t stop Italy from bouncing back quickly as Alessandro Bastoni evened the result in the 11th minute after Lorenzo Pellegrini’s assist. Azzurri took the lead in the 16th minute when Nicolo Barella scored as both goals for the win tonight were netted by Inter players.
Until the end, the match was not very interesting as Spalletti’s footballers tried to control the tempo and kept the 1-goal lead until the end.
