James Harden seems to be on his way out of Philadelphia 76ers after requesting a trade 24 hours ago. The 33-year-old opted for his player option of becoming a free agent before his contract expires.
After the news many teams got interested in the player’s signature and Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as favorites. Reports say, that Harden shares the same feeling and is keen on moving to the West coast.
The point guard is reportedly unhappy at how the 76ers handled his negotiations and is preparing a switch to Los Angeles, where he grew up.
Many believed that Harden is just testing the 76ers in order to get a better offer, but the Philadelphia team seems unwilling of handing out a long-term contract.
Should the deal come through Harden will receive $35.6 million next year on a one-year contract instead of looking for a longer-term deal in free agency.
