Gabriel Jesus shared that he convinced “his brother” Oleksandr Zinchenko to become his teammate in North London.
Both footballers left the Sky Blues to ink with Arsenal a year ago. Still, the Brazilian forward was 1st to make the move before the Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu went to Zinchenko’s home to discuss a transfer.
Sharing about his role in the transfer for the 1st time, Jesus claimed today: “I was in Manchester, at my house with my family, and I was supposed to travel to London the day after and come in by car.
“Edu messaged me and shared they were going to my Ukrainian friend’s home if I wanted to join them to talk with Zinchenko, and then I travel to the England capital by train. So I said ‘OK.’ I went there and discussed it with him. He was surprised.
Gabriel added that he is proud if he had any role in Zinchenko’s decision to join the Gunners because he likes him as a friend and also to play with him on the pitch.
