Jamaican sprinter Johan Blake is aiming not only to compete at next year’s Paris Olympics, but even to win a medal. He became the youngest ever 100m world champion in Daegu in 2011.
“I’m looking forward to this Olympics and I definitely want a medal. I want to finish my Olympic career on a high and I would like to win a medal with the 4 x 100m relay at this Olympics”, said Blake.
The 33-year-old sprinter is still the second-fastest man in history in the 200m at 19.26 seconds and only world record holder and compatriot Usain Bolt has run faster than him in the 100m. Bolt has 9.58 and 9.63 seconds in the 100m, and Blake’s personal best is 9.69 seconds.
Blake is a two-time Olympic champion in the 4x100m, as well as a silver medalist in the 100m and 200m.
