Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) will return to fighting on September 21 – at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Promoter Frank Warren (Queensberry Promotions) told TalkSport it was almost certain Joshua would fight new IBF interim title holder compatriot Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) – who won against Croatian Filip Hergovic (17-1, 14 KOs) this past weekend.
“Dubois didn’t just take the interim title. He also proved all those who doubted him wrong,” Warren stated. “Hopefully his next fight will be against Joshua in the autumn. We are already working on it. I think Wembley is a great venue for this fight. We plan to hold a press conference this month and make it official. Joshua attended the Dubois-Hergovic fight. As soon as Daniel won, I said to him, “What’s up? Let’s go?” We are already negotiating the fight. I hope that soon we will be able to arrange everything.”

Dubois defeated Hergovic in the co-event of the 5v5: Hearn – Warren event. The show in September will be a continuation of the partnership. The first event was unexpectedly one-sided, with Warren winning 10-0.
