The Bulgarian's intentions are to stay in NBA

The best Bulgarian basketball player, Aleksandar Vezenkov, is reportedly set to leave the Sacramento Kings. According to Italian journalist Matteo Andreani the team’s management has already informed Vezenkov of their intentions.

It is highly likely that Sacramento will attempt to trade the Bulgarian forward for another player or draft picks. Such a deal could potentially take place during the NBA Draft on June 26 and 27.

Vezenkov, who turns 29 in August, just completed his first season in NBA and he he averaged 5.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 41 games, while playing an average of 12.2 minutes per game. Additionally, he netted 37 percent of his attempts from long range.

According to Andreani, Vezenkov’s priority is to remain in the NBA. The former EuroLeague MVP signed a three-year contract with Sacramento last year worth nearly $20 million. The first two years of the contract are guaranteed, while the third year is a club option. This means that for Vezenkov to become a free agent, Sacramento would have to pay him his full salary of over $6.5 million.
