Evgeny Kuznetsov remains the same off the ice – smiling and in good spirits. The player is also very much part of the Washington Capitals.
After a 2nd down campaign in 3 campaigns and another off-season of trade rumors, Kuznetsov’s remaining part of the Capitals squad never seemed given. Now that Evgeny’s back at training camp and nothing has changed with his place, he claimed that he likes to be part of the Capitals and that the new manager will help him to return his form from his best years in the NHL.
“I’m in high spirits and feel very strong mentally,” Kuznetsov shared after the 1st on-ice camp session. “Everything starts from the stretch for the whole franchise, and I’m working daily on my personal goals. I want to help the organization. I want to make the fans happy. I want Capitals to be successful.”
Washington GM Brian MacLellan claimed that they need Kuznetsov and his competitiveness.
Evgeny Kuznetsov walked with a pretty pronounced limp as he came to the podium after practice. “I’m just faking it,” he cracked before turning serious “It’s all good. I’ll be fine.” Something to monitor, obviously. #Caps pic.twitter.com/Jk82H4zdPV
