The former star of the Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs said on Twitter that he is calling it a career.
“In the words of TB12, you only get one big, emotional retirement… on that note…I’m thankful for all the memories, family, and friends I made throughout my career,” Aldridge tweeted. “It was one hell of a ride, and I enjoyed every min!”
LaMarcus spent 16 years in the NBA but announced retirement for a short period in 2020-21 because of an irregular heartbeat problem while he was part of the Brooklyn Nets.
Later Aldridge got permission from the doctors to play and took part in 47 matches of Brooklyn in a 1-year deal.
Portland picked him with the 2nd pick in the 2006 NBA draft, and he played 9 years for Trail Blazers. Then he became part of San Antonio, joining them before the beginning of the 2015-16 season as a free agent.
After 16 NBA seasons, LaMarcus Aldridge announces he has retired from basketball. Aldridge was a seven-time NBA All-Star and played for Portland, San Antonio and Brooklyn after going No. 2 in the 2006 NBA Draft.

In 2020-21 he joined Nets as this will be his last team in the NBA.
LaMarcus played in 7 All-Star games and averaged almost 20 points per game during his career and over 8 rebounds.
