The Las Vegas Raiders let go head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, the franchise shared.
“After a lot of internal discussions about what the organization needs to move forward, I have decided to fire both Josh and Dave,” owner Mark Davis told the media. “I want to give my appreciation to them both for their hard work and wish them and their families all the best in the future.”
Davis was called by the media and questioned to give more reasons for the dismissals, but the Las Vegas owner declined to answer at this time.
The Raiders firing both HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler came as a major surprise because owner Mark Davis told the two they had through the 2024 season to get through the rebuild, according to The Athletic’s @jeffphowe.https://t.co/fp0zFpFNeB

The team announced that LB manager Antonio Pierce will be the interim head coach. Raiders also added that the current assistant GM, Champ Kelly, will be promoted to interim GM. Las Vegas shared that they will invest a lot of time to find the right people for both positions, but that will happen during the offseason.
