The big event at Sin City sparked a real flurry in betting
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, which was held on November 18, set a new record for betting at BetMGM, overtaking all of the previous races in Formula 1.
According to trading manager Seamus Magee the race manufactured triple the income for BetMGM than any other race beforehand.
The eagerly awaited night race at Sin City encouraged and skyrocketed the betting action.
Max Verstappen eventually won the race for his 18th victory of the season, taking the lead with 13 laps to go.
It was reported that one BetMGM bettor wagered $200,000 at minus-200 to win $100,000 when Verstappen cruised past the start/finish line. He eventually opened at -350 and the number gradually moved down before eventually reaching -185.
