Manchester United defender has a fracture on his right leg
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez picked up an injury in last night’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla, and details of his condition have become clear today.
The Argentina international has a fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot. The medical staff of the Red Devils are not yet sure if it is best for Martinez to undergo surgery or to wait for the bone to heal on its own. In any case, he will be out for at least a month and will not play any more in the season.
The defender got injured at the end of the match, which ended in a draw 2-2. He was unable to step freely and was carried off the pitch by Sevilla compatriots Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel.
