Manchester United have announced that they will consult with the women’s team before taking decision about Mason Greenwood.
An official statement was expected before the Premier League opening round this weekend, but that has not yet occurred.
Greenwood was dropped of rape and assault charges in the court earlier this February.
However, the team is yet to come out with an official stamp on the player’s status at the club.
Earlier today, some female fans claimed that they would protest a potential return for Greenwood at the club, a they believe zero tolerance should be shown towards violence against women.
United want to consult with all key stakeholders, including members of the women’s team, some of whom are currently playing at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
It is understood there have been conversations involving 21-year-old Greenwood and his family.
It is still unknown when and how the situation will be resolved.
