The owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, said that the father of Jalen Brunson was the problem for the player to stay in the club.
He also added that the organization will do everything possible to keep Kyrie Irving after the season.
Brunson and his father said earlier that the player was willing to accept a 4-year, 56 million-dollar contract.
Mark showed messages from his GM that stated that the player’s father insisted on more money which the franchise couldn’t pay at the time because of the salary cap.
“Where it went south was when Rick took over, when the parent took over, or parents took over,” Cuban said.
Jalen then signed for 4 years with New York Knicks in a contract that would pay him 104 million dollars.
