Daniil Medvedev lost his 1/2 final match against determined and well-prepared Carlos Alcaraz, but the Russian player certainly got the crowd’s backing.
Medvedev, just like all other Russian player, were banned from 2022 Wimbledon due to the outburst of war in Ukraine.
“It was amazing to be back at Wimbledon,” he said. “I’m going to try even harder next few years.”
Despite the resounding loss, Medvedev could feel the warm welcome he received from the supporters.
“Amazing. Amazing,” Medvedev said of the crowd support. “Even today, as I said throughout the two weeks, they were going for the underdog. I was losing in the match, so they were supporting me, supporting me like crazy. I felt like they wanted the match to prolong.”
