Leo Messi has claimed Argentina will have to compete better than ever and must be prepared to leave everything on the pitch if they want to win 2nd consecutive Copa America.
The 2022 World Cup champs start their Copa América title defense vs. Canada today in Atlanta, Georgia. They will also play against Peru and Chile in Group A.
“At this moment, we can claim that we are the best because we are the world champions. But that must not fool us that we are going to triumph in this tournament by walking,” the Argentina captain revealed.
Lionel added that the task to defend their title will be extremely hard and shared about the great things that their opponents at Copa America have.
Argentina defeated Brazil 1-0 at the Maracana stadium to win the Copa América in 2021, the nation’s 1st major trophy in 28 years.
