Leo Messi revealed he believed his injury scare was “nothing serious” after receiving treatment for a right thigh problem during Argentina’s tough 1-0 Copa America victory against Chile at MetLife Stadium.
The defending champs qualified for the ¼ finals with their 2nd victory at the championship, as the goal was scored very late in the 88th minute by substitute Lautaro Martínez.
The most bothering moment for Argentina was when Messi received treatment from physios during the 1st half.

“It’s bothering me a bit, but It didn’t stop me from playing until the end,” the Argentina captain shared, speaking in the post-match mixed zone. “I believe it’s not a huge problem. It limited me to move freely. On Wednesday, we’ll see how I feel.”
Lionel still played at the highest level despite his problem, as he hit the post in the 1st half.
Messi added that his teammates knew that the match will be physical and Chile are great opponent but they did what they wanted – win and qualify to the ¼ finals of Copa America.
