Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who until now worn a wristband with the franchise’s plays written on it to help him with play calling, has removed it this season because that is what the new offensive coordinator Todd Monken suggested.
The offensive coordinator shared that Lamar would be better on the field and communicate better with his team during the offenses without a wristband to rely on.
“The crucial thing is your ability to communicate the calls,” Todd claimed. “And the best way to do that is to not start with wristbands. Jackson must hear what I tell him. He has to process the call. He has to share them with his teammates. He has to get the rhythm. We can return the wristbands at any moment. Wristbands are for amateurs. You just read it. The tough thing is learning the offense and processing and commanding the calls.”
