Jose Mourinho has called out on the match official in charge of his team’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Monza as the ‘worst one’ in his career.
The result is a major blow in Roma’s ambitions to secure a Champions League spot. Mourinho’s men currently sit outside the designated top 4 places in fifth.
The situation, which infiruated the 60-year old coach was the referee decision to send Mehmet Zeki Celik for a 2nd bookable offence. Mourinho claimed that decision of such kind shows that Chiffi has no ’empathy’.
‘This was the worst referee I have encountered in my entire career,’ Mourinho told DAZN.
‘Believe me, I have dealt with many bad referees. Usually, when I talk about referees, it is because they have a direct influence on the game.’
‘In this case, I don’t think that is true. But he is horrible, he makes no human connection with anyone, he has no empathy, he gives a red card to a player who slips because he is exhausted at the 96th minute.’
