NBA directors are preparing to impose a new policy that would prevent teams from resting more than one of their stars, according to The Athletic.
All-Stars are defined as players who have been selected to NBA All-Star teams or have been named to one of the NBA’s All-Star Teams for the past three seasons.
The policy is the result of a debate over the past few years to cut back on teams using the tactic to control the workload of basketball players to the detriment of fans and television audiences.
NBA Board is expected to vote this week on new rule that a team is unable to rest two star players in the same game

The Los Angeles Clippers, for example, won’t be able to rest Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the same game if the new policy goes into effect.
The NBA also limited the scheduling of back-to-back games in different cities and increased the number of back-to-back away games against the same opponent.
