The forward played last campaign with the Devils as he scored 14 goals and earned 41 points in 80 matches.
In the postseason, Erik notched 4 goals and earned 6 points in 12 postseason matches before the New Jersey were eliminated in the 2nd round by Carolina Hurricanes in 5 matches.
He was drafted back in 2009, 182nd overall, as in his career so far in the National Hockey League, he scored 126 goals and had 281 points in 614 matches. Before landing in New Jersey, he played for the Wild, Golden Knights, Hurricanes, Panthers, Predators, and Bruins.
Erik is coming off a 2-year, almost 5 million contract he inked with the Boston Bruins in the summer of 2021.
