Players may opt to withdraw from the 2034 World Cup, which is set to be held in Saudi Arabia, claims the head of the PFA.
It was announced on Tuesday that Australia withdrew its bid for the event, leaving Saudi Arabia as the only option.
That means that the time schedule will be, just like last year in Qatar, during the winter, which will cause major disturbance in the league calendars.

As a result, many top players may opt to stay home and reject going to Saudi Arabia, claims Maheta Molango.
“We all want our biggest tournaments to showcase our best players,” he said. “That means we need to start listening when players start opting out of international football due to the pressures of the workload they are facing. We think that’s a real risk.”
